About Kaohsiung
Kaohsiung, the 2nd largest city of Taiwan has a location in south western enclosed by Kaohsiung County and faces the Taiwan Strait on the west. The city is officially named Kaohsiung City and known as Gandu; meaning the harbor city in Chinese. It is comprised of eleven districts with a population 1.5 million approximate.

Kaohsiung is a prosperous modern city for manufacturing, refining, shipbuilding as well as the center of light and heavy industries. The Kaohsiung Port is also the major port of Taiwan which deals most of Taiwan’s imports and exports. Due to its economical significance and prosperousness, Kaohsiung is also the host city for World Games 2009. Travelers may choose to visit Kaohsiung either by train to the Kaohsiung Railway Station, high speed rail to the HSR Kaohsiung Zuoying Station, or plane to the Kaohsiung International Airport.

Kaohsiung is also renowned for having a diverse variety of sightseeing spots. Visitors may simply visit the Dome of Light at the KRT Formosa Boulevard Station, Sizih Bay at the KRT Sizihwan Station, Kaohsiung Arena at the KRT Kaohsiung Arena Station, Urban Spotlight at Central Park Station, Heart of Love River at KRT Houyi Station, and Love River at the KRT City Council Station. Travelers may take KRT to KRT Kaohsiung International Airport Station to connect to other Taiwan cities and countries, KRT Zuoying Station for high speed rail and KRT Formosa Boulevard for train to many other Taiwan destinations.
